• A fully completed and signed visa application form
• Proof of payment of the applicable government fee
• A valid passport with at least 30 days validity beyond your intended departure from South Africa
• A medical report completed by a registered medical practitioner (issued within the last six months), including the practitioner’s practice number, address, and contact details
• Original police clearance certificates from all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months within the past five years (not older than six months)
• A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, if you have travelled or plan to travel through a Yellow Fever risk area (excluding direct transit)
  
  

Your prospective employer in South Africa must provide a formal written undertaking confirming:

• Your passport will remain valid for the full duration of your employment
• Acceptance of responsibility for any deportation costs, including those of accompanying dependents, if necessary
• Commitment to inform the Director-General should you fail to comply with visa conditions or immigration regulations
• Notification to the Director-General if your employment ends or your role within the company changes
• Proof that your qualifications have been evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority, or proof that an application for evaluation has been submitted
• Comprehensive employer details, including proof of registration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, where applicable

General Work Visas are typically issued for a maximum period of five years If your SAQA evaluation is still in progress, a visa may be granted for up to one year. Once a positive SAQA outcome is obtained, the visa can be extended accordingly
